Motorcycle Expo

This weekend in Hartford, CT will be the New England Motorcycle Expo. This is an annual event and features custom builders, vendors and what not. It mostly focuses on cruisers and overpriced, overweight choppers but there's always something extra in the mix. So if you need a moto fix to combat winter weather it's here for ya.

An alternative to shoveling snow

Royal Enfield to premiere two new models to their lineup tomorrow at the NYC Motorcycle Expo. More info here.

No sleep till....

This Saturday is the Brooklyn Invitational.  Well the Indian Larry show will be going on in NY too, but I think this is the better pick of the two. It's a custom bike show with a fair share of V-twins, but the right ones. Garage built bikes that actually get ridden. No chromefest here. So go party with Dice magazine, Asahi beer, and checkout the NY underground.

Rice O Rama

This year's Rice-O-Rama event went off with out a hitch despite the looming clouds all day long. As I wound up in a basement working on one of my own ratty Hondas I didn't make the long trip up to Mass, but here's some pics from a local rider. Sorry I missed it cause I've scored some great deals at the swap meet in the past.

The Aftermath

Photography is a handy tool when your too drunk to remember what happened. Seriously though here's a few shots from yesterday's Rockers Reunion in CT taken by a friend Al Kim. If you made it down you got an alibi, if you didn't here's a taste of what you missed out on.

Reunion Time

It's almost here. The Second annual Rockers Reunion will take place on the 5th in Glastonbury, CT.  Rockers, mods, deadbeats, and random hooligans will party in the woods with 4 bands, 2 DJs, and a lot of Pabst. Come on down and join in.

Spark!

The monthly Fuel, Air, Spark European motorcycle night will be happening tonight in Newtown, CT at the Blue Z coffee house. The rumor is that some of the crew from last night's Royal Enfield demo rides might be swinging by with their bikes. As always pints to follow if you're up for it.

Raising Hell.

The HollowBody Hellraisers from Florida are the fourth and final band to be added to the lineup for this years 2nd Annual Rockers Reunion in Glastonbury, CT on Sept. 5th. They will go on with local acts such as Four Barrel Billy, Soul Reapin 3, and The Clams. Get on your racer and head over!

Rice-O-Rama

Even though Holeshot is just around the corner on the 22nd I wanted to remind New england riders of Rice-O-rama. It's the Japanese vintage bike meet and swap and it's taking place in Mass. on Sept. 12. For more info go here. Always a good show.

Brit Jam

The british Iron assoc. of CT is putting on it's annual BritJam on the 14th. Always a good time for vintage fans of all types.

Hot Rod Riot 5!

Just a reminder. This Saturday is the 5th annual Hot Rod Riot put on by Murdercycles MC. This is always a good time so get out to Ellington, CT and support it.

Holeshot

Earlier I had posted about the brooklyn invitational, and now I finally found the info for Holeshot. This is a yearly show put on by Works Engineering and NYC vin moto. In the past it has been called detonation, brand X and other names. Why the mystery, let's head to Brooklyn and find out.

The next big thing.

With the first few big events this year over and done with it's time to plan out the rest of the summer. Besides the usual rides and Hot rod shows here's the highlights for the next few months in CT. More info to come as time draws near.

The aftermath

The Second annual New England Mods/Rockers event has passed and a few pics and videos have started coming in from the ride. Now time to look forward to the Rockers Reunion in the spring.

Putting the England back in New England.

The 2nd Annual Mods v Rockers New England will be taking place in Connecticut on June 19th. Come ride with Rockers CT as they clash with Pleasure Barons scooter club, Elm City Scooters and the crew from Hartford Vespa. There will be a meet up, then a scenic ride followed by food and pints. For more info check out RockersCT or Scooter Centrale.

From Rhinebeck with sunburn.

Returned from the vintage motorcycle show in Rhinebeck, NY. Slightly poorer but with nothing in tow. Great turn out for vendors and show bikes. If you get a chance head down Saturday or Sunday and check out what's left.

Rhinebeck

Barely rested up after getting back from the Bennington Triumph bash and i'm off riding again. This weekend will be the Rhinebeck, NY grand national meet.  Mostly pre-60s vintage bikes. Every year i'm shocked by how many amazing old bikes roll in. There are literally dozens of board track racers and plenty of spare parts for those who know what they are looking at. As for me I just gawk and take photos. See ya there. http://www.rhinebecknationalmeet.com/

No sleep till......

The date has been posted for this year's Brooklyn invitational. After seeing the pictures from last year this will be a definite. Custom bikes, bands, and plenty of beer are promised.
